God's Plan for Your Prosperity

By Lan & Nita Olude

Psalm 35:27 (KJV)
“Let the Lord be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.”

It is interesting to note through this verse of scripture that God is pleased when His people prosper. Prosperity includes having a lot of money, but from God’s perspective it goes beyond just having money. It includes having the power to get wealth (Deuteronomy 8:18). This power will create money when needed and also produce things that money cannot buy such as wholeness and peace of mind. God intends to give this power to His people.

Earthly fathers do everything possible to make sure that their children get the best of everything. If fathers feel this way about their children, we should not assume that our God feels any less different concerning our prosperity. Jesus stated this point in Luke 11:13 that our God intends to give good gifts to us including the manifestation of the fullness of the Holy Spirit when we ask Him. Our God is a good and responsible parent.

To further substantiate God’s intention to make us prosperous, He told the nation of Israel that through their prosperity, He will establish the covenant which He swore to Abraham (Deuteronomy 8:18). In His covenant to Abraham, God promised to bless all the nations of the earth through the seed of Abraham (Genesis 22:18). This covenant of blessing can only be established through the prosperity of God’s people. If God’s people are not prosperous God becomes unattractive, and it will be difficult to ask anyone to accept Jesus as Lord and follow after His ways. Therefore the reason for our prosperity goes beyond gratifying our personal needs. It extends to getting people saved and born again.

Think of how much you can do for the kingdom of God if you had more money. Think of how many mission projects you can fund, how many books you can freely give and how much of a blessing to humanity you can be. We want to encourage you to start living life beyond the shores of your personal needs. Extend your horizon to incorporate the plan of the creator. Work toward immeasurable increase from God today. Renew your mind and align your plans with God’s plan for your prosperity. We have included further promises of God’s Word that may be reviewed to build ones faith concerning this topic.

Please reference additional scriptures below to renew your mind in this regard, and access resources on www.heroesmart.com to feed your spirit and grow your faith in Christ Jesus.
